Role and Responsibilities
To assist the assigned Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction and financial outcome of construction projects, including coordination and administration of the contract documents, verification of estimated quantities and unit prices, preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, monitoring of job progress.
Assistant Project Manager Job Duties:
Generally assist in the coordination of project construction activities between office and field. Provide assistance with management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget, all to the customer’s satisfaction.
Additional Specific Duties to Include but Not Limited to:
Assisting the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager with the following:
1. Assist with on-site project management.
2. Construction billing and cost tracking.
3. Aid Project Manager in verifying sub bids and selecting subs for project. Prepare and maintain an up-to-date Subcontractor/Material List for job(s).
4. Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing the Construction Schedule. Input schedule data into computer. Update Schedule weekly as directed.
5. Maintain up-to-date job progress information on labor and material cost by verification of Weekly Production Reports, and checking of field purchase orders and labor time sheets. Assistant shall verify proper use of cost codes and confirm pricing. Initial purchase orders, production reports, equipment time sheets, and submit to Project Manager for review.
6. Verify pricing of material invoices and approve. Submit invoices to Project manager for review before returning to accounting.
7. Assist Project Manager in procuring permits and working with local building officials.
8. Assist and expedite all requested Project Management tasks throughout the period of construction.
9. Assist Project Manager with submittal shop drawing review and tracking, RFIs and drawing control and as-builts.
10. Perform job site inspections throughout the construction phase of a project as required. Review job site conditions with Superintendent, including but not limited to workmanship, scheduling and safety, including OSHA compliance. Notify Superintendent/Project Manager of safety infractions.
11. Preparation of meeting minutes, if needed.
12. Meet with Project Manager at the beginning and end of each week to review weeks’ work and plan next week.
13. Monthly project report generation.
14. Assist Project Manager with project close out, including but not limited to reviewing all final cost data, preparing closing statement and sending to subcontractors. Coordinate and compile materials for preparation of Maintenance Manuals at job close-out.
15. Generally providing comprehensive assistance to senior project management staff as directed in order to expedite the flow of the work and to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel. - Proficient in Microsoft Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Should have and maintain knowledge base and understanding of current State and local municipality Building Codes.
- Must have a good command of the English language, oral and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
Preferred Skills

- 1-3 years construction experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or related field
- Certificate in construction or building trade(s)
- Procore software experience
Additional Notes
Must have own vehicle for frequent travel and a valid driver’s license; truck is preferred.
