Project Description
Budget: $4,230,000
Client: City of Bradenton
The City of Bradenton chose Jon F. Swift Construction to provide Construction Management at Risk services for the Bradenton Streetscape project. The downtown Bradenton area is going through a recent revitalization from the Riverwalk to the new hotels and parking garage being built. With all this positive momentum, the City wanted to ensure the connection of downtown Bradenton with the Village of the Arts area, just a few short miles away. The project goals included:
- Build upon the existing streetscape framework to enhance the pedestrian experience, placemaking opportunities and perception of downtown.
- Increase pedestrian safety and walkability
- Create linkage between the Riverwalk, downtown and the Village of the Arts
- Implement placemaking strategies that complement the character of Bradenton
This project is unique in that there were various options proposed by the engineer including which streets in downtown Bradenton would get an update. The scope of work includes providing pricing throughout the preconstruction phase for the various options, as well as the execution of the streetscape. A few highlights of the project will include:
- Keeping the downtown businesses operational during construction
- Construction on multiple streets simultaneously
- Unique colored concrete patterns
