The Bay Park Conservancy breaks ground on Mangrove Bayou Walkway

The Bay Conservancy broke ground on Friday, kicking dirt up on what will eventually become a Mangrove Bayou Walkway. The Mangrove Bayou Walkway, one of the first segments to be set in the initial phase of the larger 53-acre bay redevelopment project, will feature a 10-foot wide, 1/2-mile-long walkway with Florida friendly landscaping that will include lighting as well as a no-fertilizer, no-mow buffer.

Sarasota’s Church of the Palms recently unveiled its new Palms Center, a 14,000-square-foot multi-use building with a café, lounge, classrooms, stage area and basketball and volleyball court. The Palms Center was designed by Carlson Studio Architecture and built by Jon F. Swift Construction. Founded in 1957, Church of the Palms now has over 1,800 members.
