Jon F. Swift Construction was selected as the design/build contractor for this project. Our team worked with the City through the design phase and produced workable construction documents in order to widen the sidewalks along Main Street, making the area more pedestrian friendly. Many businesses have taken advantage of the wider sidewalks; adding outdoor seating and/or dining in front of their establishments. In addition to installing the brick sidewalks, the City decided to install ‘Silva Cell’, a modular suspended pavement system that uses soil volumes to promote large tree growth and provide powerful on-site storm water management. Other improvements included new landscaping, irrigation, brick crosswalks, decorative way finding signage and new LED lighting.
